Groupon deals are an easy way for the customer to get huge discounts while discovering fun activities in your city. The daily deals consist of restaurants, spas, hotels, weekend get aways, and a whole lot more, in hundreds of cities across the world.
What Is Groupon?
The best way for you the business owner to see if this will work for you or your business go to Groupon
Is this a deal for the business owner?
That depends on who you ask, with out proper planning this could end up being a money losing proposition, and a hugh time drain on your staff and business. The complaints so for are the Groupon customers don’t want anything but the cheapest price?
So the question is, Groupon is it really worth the time for business owners to take that chance and see if this attracts long term customers that are willing to pay full prices for the products and services in the future? Here are some ideas you can use that will help increase the customer retention and increase spending.- Price your product a little higher, so you might aim for customers who were willing to pay for a service package closer to the prices of your actual, full-price services. I think this will make a difference for the Groupon deals that you bring in.
- Put a cap on the number of Groupons that you allow to be sold. This eliminates the possibility for your books to be so bogged down with Groupon clients that your regular clients felt neglected.
- Ask your staff/sales people about the number of Groupon services they’d be comfortable with taking on. Offer your staff/sales people the full profit from their Groupon transactions even if they have not been completely booked anyway. This will steer them from the issue of being disgruntled feeling pressured into performing a massive amount of work that wouldn’t show them much return.
Research
in such a way that allows you to avoid any major problems that might arise.Ask people you knew in various industries who had used Groupon about their experiences with it.Prepare yourself
based on their responses/advice/warnings. There really isn’t any hard fast rules outside of think ahead and outline your goals for this campaign like any marketing campaign set goals and track everything. I hope this helps let me know what you think.. Pete
Hello Everyone,
I know your ready to kick some A&& this year so I wanted to share an e-mail I received from Michael Campbell, CEO Dynamic Media Corporation.
I really believe he is someone you should listen to if your interested in great content on internet marketing and just a very sharp person, from someone who is doing it .
15 Tips to Increase Your Productivity
1. Get enough sleep. Contrary to
pop culture, it's not a status symbol,
or sign of virility. Research with arctic
scientists proved they were more
productive, more focused and got their
work done faster, if they slept at least
9 hours per night, as compared to
getting only 6 hours per night.
2. Don't multitask. Cognitive
neuroscientists have proven that
humans cannot multitask. It's merely
fast switching from one thing to another.
Every time you switch tasks you lose
concentration and momentum. The older
you are, the harder it gets.
3. Turn off distractions and focus.
Disconnect yourself from the grid.
The world will continue to spin without
you. Shut off the pings, tweets, instant
messages, etc and focus your attention.
Get off the grid for days at a time if you
need to, and get the project done.
4. Make a stop doing list. There are so
many addictive behaviours in life. So put
down that video game. Stop yourself from
doing them by making a list. If what
you're doing is not moving you closer to
your goals, stop it.
5. No whining or complaining. Moaning
about your situation doesn't do anything
to help it. Nothing changes until you
decide to change it. It's not about having
enough resources. It's about your
resourcefulness.
6. Make less more often. Attention spans
are down. People are gleaning facts, not
looking for deep understanding. Make
your content shorter. Make videos under
3 minutes and posts under 250 words, but
do them more often, with one key point
in each.
7. Hire the talent. If you're an expert in
something, get others to write for you in
the form of guest articles or posts. Since
you know the field well, you'll know good
content when you see it. Getting more
content, produces more authoritative
pages and grows your website quickly.
8. Upgrade your equipment. It's
frustrating waiting for machines, uploads,
or having to sneakernet data around
between computers. I got a Thunderbolt
based Mac laptop. Now one computer can
hook to the big monitor for production
work, or slide into the backpack. All the
data is in one place.
9. Repurpose your content. You may have
heard it called transmedia, multimedia, or
intermedia, but its all the same thing.
Shoot a three minute talking head video,
extract the audio for a podcast, and get
it transcribed for text and slides. Now
you can take one message and share it,
in different forms, in hundreds of places.
10. Protect your assets. Although not
technically a production booster, it will
prevent down time, headaches and legal
hassles. Get the proper legal pages up on
your site, like terms and conditions of
use, privacy policy and the rest. It shows
that you're running a serious business
and they protect it. Plus as a bonus, its
proven to boost consumer confidence.
11. Focus on your core competencies.
Learning a new skill is great, so long as
you can apply it immediately to what
you're already doing. It's better to
cultivate deep understanding of one
thing, than it is to flit from idea to
idea, looking for the next quick hit,
that never comes. Put down roots and
do something you love.
12. Go analog. When it comes time for
planning, go low tech with pencil and
paper. Research has shown that thoughts
are more complete if you write them out
by hand. You're also more connected to
them, more likely to complete them and
remember them.
13. Make a to do list. This idea has been
around for 100 years and its still great
advice. Make a list of the 5 top things
you want to achieve tomorrow, and
number them in their order of their
importance. Then do at least one of
them and make progress towards your
worthy goals, or ideals.
14. Plan in quarters. Divide a piece of
paper into four columns. List in each
quarter what you want to achieve.
Once you have your list, transfer it to a
whiteboard within plain view. Then you
can keep yourself on track as you aim
for your quarterly goals.
15. Quit. Have the courage to quit, or
delegate, everything you're merely average
at doing. Good enough isn't good enough
anymore. Everyone's a channel, a content
provider and a brand. What we lack is
trust. So make a commitment to be the
best in the world at what you love to do,
or sell the farm and move on.
I hope this inspires you to take massive
action. With massive action comes
massive results. If you build on the
positive results, it leads to increased
belief in yourself and your abilities.
Then you can take even more action
and continue to build your momentum.
The time for laziness and consumption
are over. Like the #1 Canadian financial
dude said, its time to work hard and
produce more. That's how you'll weather
the storms, get through the dips, and
emerge best in the world at what you
love to do.
Wishing you all the best for online success,
Michael

Hello,
Hope everyone is off to a strong start for the new year,I know it is easy to get off track especially when your trying to do many things at one time, commonly referred to as juggling.I wanted to share something that I thought may be interesting and help you focus, keep in mind if your not a copy writer that's fine the lesson here is what I really wanted to share with you. The authors name is Nick Usborne
ARTICLE: The secret of success is to stay focused on one thing.
You probably have a few friends who always seem to be into something new, each time you talk with them.
They are jumping into the latest new trend, or have discovered some amazing hidden opportunity.
You envy their enthusiasm and optimism. They seem so alive, so curious, so plugged into what’s happening. Their eyes sparkle, their level of energy is contagious. In fact, you pretty much want to do what they are doing. It looks like a fun life, and a fun way to make a living. But…when you step back and look at them more carefully, you see they are not particularly successful. They seem to make just enough money to get by. They are always looking for the “big one”, but never find it.Why aren’t they achieving massive success? It’s because they lack focus.
They lack the self-discipline to choose one path, and then remain focused on that “one thing”, week after week, month after month, and year after year. The most successful freelancers and entrepreneurs remained focused on a single topic, or skill, often for their entire careers. For example, Jakob Nielsen’s site, useit.com, has been focused on web usability since 1995.Danny Sullivan of searchengineland.com has been covering search engine optimization since 1995.And I have been focused on writing for the web since 1998. By remaining focused on “one thing”, you build an incredible body of knowledge and expertise. You also attract a large following, which allows you to monetize your work effectively.Does this mean you have to go through your career wearing blinkers and ignoring every new innovation that comes along? Absolutely not. Danny Sullivan has written plenty about social media. But he writes about it from the perspective of how it impacts search engine optimization.I also write about social media, because it impacts writing for the web.But what we don’t do is lose our focus on our core topic, that “one thing”.It is by having that one, immovable thing that we are able to filter signal from noise. When bombarded with a zillion shiny new innovations, we pay attention only to those that are relevant to our core topic and skill. When you do this, it streamlines your work life. It makes you more efficient. It allows you to filter out everything that is irrelevant to your path. And ultimately, in my view, mastery of one skill is a lot more satisfying than dipping your toes into a dozen different skills. What’s your one thing? And will you still be focused on it ten years from now? Hello From Orlando
Direct response marketing tip #107 :Get your face painted like a clown put on the big floppy shoes come down to my new office hand out free coffee and promote my business for me... You want me to do what??That definitely gets attention.
That was the irresistible offer that was presented to me I should help this person out because I know a little about marketing ... very tough to say no to but I had to pass.
Actually they wanted me to come down and stand outside the office early in the morning while people were walking up and down the street and hand out Free coffee, probably better in a clown suite than me a 50 something big ass white guy, not wanting to talk to any of these people all miserable because they have to go to work attitudes, at least the clown would help make them feel less helpless figuring I am a bigger idiot than they will ever be.
This is marketing as most small businesses think marketing, good idea if you own a coffee shop not as good if you sell bicycles, still better than nothing but not by very much.I am certainly not criticizing anyone for trying quite frankly many businesses suffer from learned helplessness and they are waiting for anything to happen its sad but very much a way of life for many people.
So now that I am back to reality I bring one idea to the world that I did not think of it just borrow from those that are doing it very well, direct response marketing, talking to your customer or prospect not as a group but as a person.Benefits,benefits.
Three quick and easy ways to get more leads and more customers maybe even double your business in the next 12 months
- A Stop them in their tracks Headline(you have three seconds to grab someones attention)
- An irresistible tangible offer key word tangible something they can put to use now.
- Call to action,if there is no call to action why would they buy now?
